Strides confirms that the utmost care will be exercised during the transportation of bikes to and from races in South Africa.
Strides will not be liable for any action, damage, claim, cost or expense that may arise directly or indirectly as a consequence of any act and/or omission on the part of the Strides its employees and/or agents (including negligence and gross negligence, except to the extent impermissible in terms of the Consumer Protection Act).
In addition to what is set out above Strides will not be liable for any claim and/or damages sustained as a consequence of any act or failure which is beyond the reasonable control of the Strides, which shall include but not be limited to, war, strike, riot, crime, or an event described as an act of God such as storms, flooding, earthquake, etc.
It is your (“the client’s”) responsibility to obtain sufficient insurance cover for your bike while left in the custody of Strides.
Strides is in no way involved with insurance cover for clients bikes.
Dropping off the bikes
In the case of the transporting of a roadbike, when dropping your bike, the front and rear wheel will be removed, bubble wrapped and put in specially designed bike box with your frame. The utmost care will be taken when handling all bicycle components.
In the case of the transporting of a mountain bike, when dropping your bike, it will not be necessary to remove the wheels, we work with a roll on roll off system. Each bicycle will be secured into place, and no bicycles will be touching.
When dropping off the bike, all devices which are not permanently fastened to the bike, such as speedometers, cadence meters, heart rate monitors, water bottles, etc. can also be placed inside the box so as to ensure that none of our cyclists lose any of their expensive equipment.
At Strides we realize the value and costs associated with bicycles, and we guarantee that we will take care of your bike as if it were our own.
Ownership of the bike always rests with the cyclist, and is never transferred to Strides during transportation of the bike.
Strides retains ownership over all material used in order to transport the bike, such as the cardboard boxes, strapping material, identification stickers, etc.
All cancellations received within a period of more than 30 days before the date of the specific race for which the booking was made, will be entitled to a 50% refund of the booking price paid for that specific race.
Any cancellation received within a period of less than 30 days before the date of the specific race for which the booking was made, will not be entitled to any refund.
Through the act of booking a bike for transportation with Strides, either via EFT or via credit card, the cyclist gives express permission for Strides to make use of the personal information obtained in order to contact the cyclist with regards to future races and/or promotions offered by Strides.
Through the act of booking a bike for transportation with Strides, either via EFT or via credit card, The cyclist also gives express permission for Strides to make use of the cyclists’ personal information in order to further future business opportunities and database interests.
